Train the Take Part Trainers
Train the Take Part Trainers is a national project, in partnership with the WEA and the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action (NAVCA), set out to build active citizenship skills for developing flexible teaching and learning methods. The project, funded by the Department for Communities & Local Government, is part of the ‘Take Part’ scheme aimed at helping people to gain the skills to feel confident members of their community and hence play an active role in it. The ‘Train the Take Part Trainers’ project will generate a national body of trainers who can deliver Take Part Learning programmes. There have been 3 project organisers appointed, each responsible for several regions in the country.
The project is open to all those with an interest in active citizenship and community involvement wishing to develop teaching and training skills. The programme planned includes: Introduction to Active Citizenship, Introduction to becoming a Take Part Trainer, City and Guilds 7303 in Active Citizenship teaching and learning and Day Conferences on Strengthening Democracy.
